Atelier Viollet presents a powder room decorated in custom gypsum panels affixed to a dark backing, installed above a marble base foundation. The two materials contrast in a harmonious manner that highlights their distinctive characteristics. This project was designed by Julie Hillman with Abelow Sherman Architects.
In its final ornamental state, gypsum retains its original physical attributes. Although cut and processed, the material never loses its crystalline qualities as seen in its natural form found in the American West.
