Palmwood has been used in many of Atelier Viollet‘s pieces, and is one of our favorite veneers. It is a highly appreciated material particularly due to its beautiful combination of light and dark fibers. It is for this very reason that Jean Paul Viollet reveres the wood so much. Due to its unique appearance, it can’t be mistaken for any other material. Art Deco designers in the 1920s and 1930s, such as Pierre Chareau, realized its unique qualities, using it in a myriad of different pieces.
