One of Atelier Viollet‘s favorite wood veneers is macassar ebony. Used in some of our most notable pieces, such as our dining table top in macassar ebony with mother of pearl inlay and macassar ebony bed with parchment drawers and mother of pearl inlay.
Macassar ebony is typically found in the East Indies and is mainly used for its beautiful aesthetic qualities. Major furniture designers such as Emile-Jacques Ruhlmann and Jules Leleu have utilized ebony in some of their timeless pieces. We are happy to have the opportunity to work with this beautiful material and offer it to our clientele.
