Today we’d like to share more images from one of Atelier Viollet‘s collectible series: Ensemble Mobilier: Exposition Internationale 1925 by Maurice Dufrene. This three book folio series, originally published in 1926, shows interiors designed by a myriad of renowned designers for the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Decoratifs Modernes (Art Exposition of 1925) in Paris. See the original post here.
The 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Decoratifs Modernes was one of the most influential expositions in French furniture and design. In this folio, the designers’ different installations are shown in a series of photographic plates. Different decorators demonstrated their ability to create a sleek and glamorous presentation. The exposition was also one of the starting points for Art Deco, which got its name from the term “Arts Decoratifs”. The classic and streamlined furniture exhibited accomplished an interior that was both luxurious yet subtle, a major characteristic of Art Deco design.
